Back with another round of Thursday Confessions! I confess...
1.
That whenever I'm holding a screwdriver looking at a screw, I have to literally recite Righty tighty lefty loosey. Otherwise, I'm lost.
2.
That I let Parker choose my current nail color... orange for days!

That I've bee using Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin hand soap since July. When I ran out of the Pineapple hand soap on my bathroom vanity, I checked under under the sink and there was a half-empty Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin from last fall (I only keep them out until Thanksgiving, because #peppermint). Anyway, I totally put the Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin out and never looked back. The funny thing is, the scent reminds me of being a college freshman more than anything actually fall. You see, in September of 2000, my seventeen-year-old self was shopping for college goodies and picked up the Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin body wash from B&B Works to take with me to UCSB. So smelling it reminds me of being a college freshman and walking the dorm halls, shower caddy and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin body wash in tow.

Another too-soon confession: we've been all about Little Blue Truck's Halloween over here. When it arrived, I thought we could read it once or twice and then stow it away - but Parker has been requesting it daily. At least starting today (September!) it will be minimally acceptable. It also takes my mind off our current Alabama weather... which is all sorts of hot and sticky. Y'all, I have never had a summer that I was so over than this one... and I lived in Scottsdale, land of the 118 degree days, for five years! It's the humidity - my sweet California girl self just isn't made for it ;)

A few weeks ago, I had some avocados in need of ripening. I placed them in a paper bag and for some reason put them in a bottom kitchen cabinet. One that we seldom use. I was only using half my brain. I'll spare you the details of what I found two weeks later... but I will say that my nose led me to the forgotten avocados. #theyreeked

Speaking of only using half my brain, if I'm out grocery shopping with little man, I'm pretty much only using a quarter of it. That's how I've, not just once, or twice, but it's been at least three times now, come home with rice pudding. No one in this house eats rice pudding. I think I'm grabbing tapioca, but I'm not.

Finally, Max and I celebrated seven years of marriage this week! Husby came across my boxed wedding dress while searching for something else, so he brought it down and opened it up to show Parker. I was all giddy and sentimental and asked Parker "Do you know what this is?" figuring of course he would - he's seen photos of our wedding. Parker's response?
That's toilet paper!
Happy almost-Friday, everyone!
Ha! I really love Parker's guess at what your wedding dress was. Kids say the funniest things sometimes!
ReplyDeleteRighty tighty.... light bulbs, the waterhose faucet, gas knob on the grill - I say it all the time!! Come Monday night, I too will be breaking out the Pumpkin soap, but first we've got to say goodbye to Summer at the lake this weekend!

We read Halloween in Texas year round. Connor loves it. We have Halloween in Ohio but he doesn't get into that one as much.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I need to look these books up!
DeleteHahahaha kids are so hilarious! That was probably some expensive toilet paper!!
ReplyDeleteAnd don't feel bad... we've been reading LBT's Halloween for the last few months as well. I bought it back in June or so, and the kids have been reading it ever since. Oh well!
Haha. I do the righty tighty lefty loosy too!!! I love orange nail polish. Very fall like. I love fall scents for lotions and soaps too. I get to go to Bath and Body Works this weekend for all things Fall. I can't wait. What a comment. That's toilet paper! I about died when I read that.
ReplyDeleteLol, it's not just me on the righty tighty!!! :)
DeleteLol, Parker is adorable! So sweet of your husband too. 😊Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI am ready for fall too; it has been such a humid summer!
