Five on Friday

1. We picked up our weekly CSA box last night...

Gorgeous, right? I'm so loving this cooking what's in season thing. Except, I can tell you I have never before cooked or even purchased an eggplant.

Any eggplant eaters out there?? I feel my weekend will include some Pinterest searches on "Eggplant Recipes" for sure.

2. Y'all. On Wednesday I blogged about these J. Crew Factory shorts, and how I'm head over heels in love with them (all colors, all patterns, I don't even play favorites). 

Well, guess who is running a massive sale right now?? Why yes, J. Crew Factory (Nordstrom would actually also be an acceptable correct answer there, too, ha!). The J. Crew Factory solid shorts (found here) are only $19 right now! I'm telling you, you need these shorts in your life. 

3. Husby has requested a "light and fluffy devils food chocolate cake with chocolate chips" for his upcoming birthday. I'm practicing this weekend and making this cake from Kevin & Amanda. I hope it fits the bill!

4. If you're feeling extra crafty this weekend, try taking a cardboard box (I used a small one that came from Amazon Prime) and cutting and folding it into a mini DIY easel for your tot! I held mine together with clear packing tape. Since it's so light, however, it needed to be anchored (which is where the leopard print duck tape comes in, see below). Little man is very into stickers right now, so I handed over a sheet (leftover from my classroom days) and he was happy as a clam just standing in the craft room making his sticker art!

5. (And most important!) I'm an Auntie!!

Luke Russel arrived yesterday! Nine pounds of sweetness born ten days early. Unfortunately, we live across the country from the little guy so Facetiming will just have to do until I can hold my precious stud of a nephew in person!
